🌿 Philodendron Verrucosum Variegated – Velvet Texture with Wild Contrast
Rare, dramatic, and unmistakably tropical — Philodendron Verrucosum Variegated combines the iconic velvet foliage and glowing veining of Verrucosum with striking variegation in tones of cream, yellow, and soft green. The plush, heart-shaped leaves carry a rich velvet sheen, while irregular marbling and sectoral patterning create bold contrast across the surface.
Each leaf develops uniquely, with new growth often emerging warm-toned before maturing into deep green velvet layered with luminous variegation. The signature fuzzy petioles and reddish undersides only add to its rainforest character, making it one of the most visually expressive velvet Philodendrons available.
✨ Quick Care Tips:
💧 Water: Keep evenly moist; allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid prolonged saturation.
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light supports strong variegation and maintains rich velvet texture. Avoid harsh direct sun.
🌫 Humidity: Prefers high humidity (70%+) for optimal leaf quality and steady development.
🌡 Temps: Thrives between 18–26 °C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
🪴 Soil: Performs exceptionally well in our NPG Aroid Formula, providing the ideal balance of airflow, moisture retention, and structure to support strong root development and healthy growth. Alternatively, use a chunky, free-draining aroid mix with bark, perlite, and coco.
🌱 NPG Tip:
Provide a moss pole early — vertical growth encourages larger, more dramatic foliage and stronger variegation expression. Stable humidity is essential for keeping leaves smooth, velvety, and stress-free.
