Monstera ‘Devil Monster’
Monstera ‘Devil Monster’ is one of the most distinctive collector Monsteras available, prized for its aggressive fenestration, exaggerated perforations and intensely sculptural foliage.
We offer authentic Premium Grade and B-Grade tissue culture lines, supplied sealed in their original tissue culture bag or flask.
Premium Grade
Premium Grade plantlets are already displaying stronger and more consistent characteristic expression while still in tissue culture.
These plantlets are selected for their visible structure, overall quality and potential.
Because this expression is already present at the tissue culture stage, Premium Grade plantlets are considerably rarer and more expensive than lower-grade plantlets that may develop their defining characteristics later.
B-Grade
B-Grade plantlets may show little or no obvious characteristic expression while still in tissue culture, with the distinctive structure developing as the plant matures.
After closely following grow-outs and market reports over an extended period, there is now strong evidence supporting what has been reported about authentic B-Grade Devil Monster lines: they develop the expected characteristics as each new growth appears.
As with any living plant, individual growth, expression and fenestration will vary. No two plants will develop exactly the same structure or pattern.
About Monstera ‘Devil Monster’
Rare, aggressive and instantly unforgettable, Monstera ‘Devil Monster’ develops exaggerated cuts, perforations and elongated openings that create a wild, almost skeletal appearance unlike standard Monstera deliciosa forms.
Its fast-climbing growth habit and increasingly distorted mature foliage give it a raw, untamed appearance that has made it one of the most talked-about collector Monsteras in recent years.
As the plant matures, each new leaf has the potential to push the structure further, producing deeper fenestration and a stronger architectural presence.
✨ Tissue Culture Acclimation
Tissue culture plantlets require careful acclimation after being removed from their sealed growing environment.
For the best chance of success:
• Carefully remove the plantlets from the bag or flask.
• Thoroughly rinse all agar from the roots and foliage.
• Sterilise and treat the plantlets by following the supplied NPG Tissue Culture Acclimation Protocol.
• Apply rooting hormone where recommended.
• Plant into a clean, sterile and moisture-retentive acclimation medium.
• Keep the plantlets inside a humidity dome with warm, stable temperatures and high humidity.
• Begin under low to moderate indirect light.
• Avoid intense grow lights or direct sunlight during the first few weeks.
• Gradually increase airflow and light while slowly reducing humidity as the plantlets establish.
Every order includes an NPG Tissue Culture Acclimation Pack and access to our detailed NPG Tissue Culture Acclimation Protocol.
🌱 NPG Tip
Stability is more important than intensity during the first few weeks.
Avoid repeatedly changing the plantlet’s humidity, temperature, lighting or growing medium. Give it time to recover from deflasking, establish new roots and gradually adapt to normal growing conditions.
Tissue culture plantlets are young, living plants, and some loss is always possible during acclimation. Please ensure you are comfortable with the process and have an appropriate growing environment before purchasing.
