Elegant, architectural, and highly collectible — Alocasia Sanderiana ‘Pseudo Pink Variegated’ combines the dramatic structure of Sanderiana with soft blush-pink and creamy variegation across deep green foliage.

The leaves develop the distinctive elongated, arrow-shaped form associated with Sanderiana, with strongly defined pale veining, glossy surfaces and sculpted, undulating margins. Against the dark green base, the variegation can appear as soft pink washes, cream-toned marbling, scattered splashes or larger contrasting sections, giving every plant its own individual expression.

As the plant matures, the foliage becomes larger and more architectural, with the sharp vein structure and deeply shaped margins becoming increasingly pronounced. The combination of dark foliage, silver-white venation and blush-toned variegation gives Pseudo Pink a softer appearance than many high-contrast variegated Alocasias while still delivering serious visual impact.

✨ Tissue Culture Acclimation

Tissue culture plantlets require careful acclimation after being removed from their sealed growing environment.

For the best chance of success:

• Carefully remove the plantlet from the bag or flask.
• Thoroughly rinse all agar from the roots and foliage.
• Sterilise and treat the plantlet by following the supplied NPG Tissue Culture Acclimation Protocol.
• Apply rooting hormone where recommended.
• Plant into a clean, sterile and moisture-retentive acclimation medium.
• Keep the plantlet inside a humidity dome with warm, stable temperatures and high humidity.
• Begin under low to moderate indirect light.
• Avoid intense grow lights or direct sunlight during the first few weeks.
• Gradually increase airflow and light while slowly reducing humidity as the plantlet establishes.

Stability is more important than intensity during the first few weeks.

Avoid repeatedly changing the plantlet’s humidity, temperature, lighting or growing medium. Give it time to recover from deflasking, establish new roots and gradually adapt to normal growing conditions.

Tissue culture plantlets are young, living plants, and some loss is always possible during acclimation. Please ensure you are comfortable with the process and have an appropriate growing environment before purchasing.

💧 Water: Once established, keep the growing medium lightly and consistently moist, allowing the upper layer to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid prolonged saturation.

☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light supports strong growth and healthy pink variegation. Avoid harsh direct sunlight.

🌫 Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity, ideally 60% or higher, for strong foliage development.

🌡 Temps: Thrives in warm, stable conditions between approximately 18–28 °C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

🪴 Soil: Once fully acclimated, performs exceptionally well in our NPG Aroid Formula, providing the ideal balance of airflow, moisture retention and structure to support healthy root development. Alternatively, use a chunky, free-draining aroid mix.

Pseudo Pink is at its best when conditions remain consistent. Stable warmth, humidity and bright indirect light help support strong leaf development and allow the blush, cream and green contrast to take centre stage.

Give each new leaf time to fully harden before judging its final colour — the pink expression and contrast can become more apparent as the foliage matures.
