Striking, colourful, and incredibly rewarding to grow — Alocasia Polly ‘Ghost Pink Mint’ takes the familiar dramatic foliage of Alocasia Polly and transforms it with beautiful pastel pink, mint-green and contrasting deep green variegation.

The characteristic arrow-shaped leaves retain the bold silver-white venation and dark foliage associated with Polly, while mottled pink and mint tones move across the surface in washes, marbling, splashes and contrasting sections.

The softer pastel colouring creates a completely different appearance from traditional white-variegated Polly forms. As the plant develops, each new leaf can bring a different balance of pink, mint and green, giving every plantlet its own individual character.

A bag of five also provides an opportunity to experience tissue culture with multiple plantlets from the same cultivar, allowing you to watch each one develop its own expression as it establishes and matures.

✨ Tissue Culture Acclimation

These plantlets are supplied together in one sealed tissue culture bag and will require acclimation after removal from their sterile growing environment.

For the best chance of success:

• Carefully remove all plantlets from the tissue culture bag.
• Gently separate the individual plantlets and roots.
• Thoroughly rinse all agar from the roots and foliage.
• Sterilise and treat the plantlets by following the supplied NPG Tissue Culture Acclimation Protocol.
• Apply rooting hormone where recommended.
• Plant each plantlet individually into a clean, sterile and moisture-retentive acclimation medium.
• Keep the plantlets inside a humidity dome with warm, stable temperatures and high humidity.
• Begin under low to moderate indirect light.
• Avoid intense grow lights or direct sunlight during the first few weeks.
• Gradually increase airflow and light while slowly reducing humidity as the plantlets establish.

Stability is more important than intensity during the first few weeks.

Avoid repeatedly changing the plantlets’ humidity, temperature, lighting or growing medium. Give them time to recover from deflasking, establish new roots and gradually adapt to normal growing conditions.

Tissue culture plantlets are young, living plants, and some loss is always possible during acclimation. Please ensure you are comfortable with the process and have an appropriate growing environment before purchasing.

💧 Water: Once established, keep the growing medium lightly and consistently moist, allowing the upper layer to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid prolonged saturation.

☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light supports strong growth and helps showcase the characteristic pink and mint variegation. Avoid harsh direct sunlight.

🌫 Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity, ideally 60% or higher, for strong foliage development.

🌡 Temps: Thrives in warm, stable conditions between approximately 18–28 °C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

🪴 Soil: Once fully acclimated, performs exceptionally well in our NPG Aroid Formula, providing the ideal balance of airflow, moisture retention and structure to support healthy root development. Alternatively, use a chunky, free-draining aroid mix.

With five plantlets in each bag, don’t expect every plant to develop exactly the same colouring. Part of the appeal is watching each plantlet establish and develop its own balance of pink, mint and deep green foliage.

Keep warmth, humidity and lighting consistent during acclimation, and give each new leaf time to fully harden before judging its final colour and variegation.
