Some plants stop you mid-scroll — Alocasia Balloon Heart Pink Variegated is one of them. With its oversized, inflated heart-shaped leaves and unpredictable pink variegation, this cultivar delivers serious presence without needing loud colours or gimmicks. It’s sculptural, modern, and quietly show-stopping. ✨

Each leaf unfurls thick and glossy, showcasing deep veining and that signature “ballooned” texture. The pink variegation can range from soft blush washes to bold marbling and sectors, often shifting from leaf to leaf — making every plant completely unique. As it matures, the contrast between rich green and delicate pink creates a living statement piece that only gets better with time.

✨ Tissue Culture Acclimation

Tissue culture plantlets require careful acclimation after being removed from their sealed growing environment.

For the best chance of success:

• Carefully remove the plantlet from the bag or flask.
• Thoroughly rinse all agar from the roots and foliage.
• Sterilise and treat the plantlet by following the supplied NPG Tissue Culture Acclimation Protocol.
• Apply rooting hormone where recommended.
• Plant into a clean, sterile and moisture-retentive acclimation medium.
• Keep the plantlet inside a humidity dome with warm, stable temperatures and high humidity.
• Begin under low to moderate indirect light.
• Avoid intense grow lights or direct sunlight during the first few weeks.
• Gradually increase airflow and light while slowly reducing humidity as the plantlet establishes.

Every order includes an NPG Tissue Culture Acclimation Pack and access to our detailed NPG Tissue Culture Acclimation Protocol.

Stability is more important than intensity during the first few weeks.

Avoid repeatedly changing the plantlet’s humidity, temperature, lighting or growing medium. Give it time to recover from deflasking, establish new roots and gradually adapt to normal growing conditions.

Tissue culture plantlets are young, living plants, and some loss is always possible during acclimation. Please ensure you are comfortable with the process and have an appropriate growing environment before purchasing.

✨ Quick Care Tips:

💧 Water: Once established, keep the mix lightly moist — allow the top layer to dry slightly between waterings.

☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light supports strong growth and healthy variegation.

🌫 Humidity: Thrives with higher humidity (60%+) for best leaf quality.

🌡 Temps: Loves warmth and stability — avoid cold drafts and sudden changes.

🪴 Soil: Once fully acclimated, use a free-draining, airy aroid mix with good moisture retention.

🌿 NPG Tip:

Variegated Alocasias reward consistency. Stable light, warmth and humidity help maintain pink expression and support those thick, sculptural leaves.

A standout choice for collectors who love bold structure softened by pastel tones — refined, architectural, and undeniably special. 💗🌿
